Thanks for coming to get to know me a bit. It's important to know something about who a coach is, as rapport, trust and things like shared values and principles can actually really affect the enjoyment of the work AND is shown to be a big predictor of how well you feel your coaching proceeds. Anyway, I'm Becci. I'm an AuDHDer, positive psychology coach and research practitioner, geek, traveller, hiker, cockapoo guardian, TTRPG enthusiast and habitual hammock inhabiter. I'm queer and live my wife and too-many four legged children in a green valley in West Yorkshire.

My coaching prioritises discovery of and compassionate self-acceptance of your needs, and autonomy, choice and agency when you're figuring out what you'd like to pursue in your life - and what you choose to experiment and tinker with to get there, on your own terms and at your pace. Yes, my coaching absolutely can feature the conversations, exercises, worksheets, and tools that you might expect BUT woven around it are strands of self-compassion, a pinch of authenticity, and a strong dollop of humour and optimism. I've been told by clients I am affirming, non-judgmental and accepting. Psychoeducation and the resource library are big free-of-charge features of my coaching, and you can have access to anything I've got should you wish to at any point when we're working together. Knowledge is empowerment!

I conduct independent scholarship on ADHD and/or autistic positive psychology and coaching practice. I like to look at research and concepts that have been investigated without thought to ADHD and/or autistic people and consider them through our lens, or create things within positive psychology (coaching) that seem to work for us and might actually be useful for more people, or expand our general understanding of positive psychology generally thereby.
I am interested in developing and researching solo journalling and table top role playing games such as Colostle or Dungeons & Dragons in individual/group settings. I also research ADHD and/or autistic practitioner well-being and self support when working as a coach. This includes researching and developing accessible, affirming and manageable self-compassion supports and practices that work better for alexithymic folks and/or are more effective for neurodivergent people with self-stigma or a vulnerability to "backdraft" when practicing self-compassion - super essential for us coaches too!
Finally, the (research) reason I get out of bed in the morning is to learn everything I can get my nerdy sticky beak on when it comes to vitality, and how it can be understood and applied in self-support, coaching and other forms of practice to generate increased, sustainable and harnessable energy and capacity - especially for people like me who don't just think hard on purpose for work, but enjoy thinking hard on purpose for fun, as well. My biggest dream is to continue to develop, practice, share and educate others about vitality coaching and its benefits for ADHD and/or autistic people like myself.
If you want to be nerdy with me about these topics and maybe even collaborate, you can ALWAYS get in touch to get into the ideas with me.

My signature strengths are curiosity, love of learning, creativity, perspective-taking and humour. I value autonomy and agency, growth, integrity, enquiry, play and exploration.
I'm serious about my coaching practice and study, and reflect, innovate and wonder extensively but I am also enthusiastic, warm, optimistic, hopeful AND unserious (in a healthy way) about many other aspects of life.
I believe that (your own version of) play, fun, adventure, leisure, silliness, laughter, joy, awe and wonder are as essential in life as other "basic needs", especially if one is ADHD and/or autistic - but, of course, on one's own terms, agenda and timescale (otherwise, those things probably aren't fun!).
I adore lying in my hammock with my dogs, playing a flamboyant elven Southern-belle fake noblewoman of letters and polymath (an absolute con artiste) in Dungeons & Dragons with my wife and friends. When I'm not doing those things or coaching, I can be found hiking and wild camping to watch the stars in the hills.
